On November 28, 2025, Almaty became a platform for one of the important environmental events of the year - the Dialogue "Green Impulse: Towards the Regional Environmental Summit - 2026", which was held at the Central Asian Institute of Environmental Studies.
The event brought together opinion leaders, representatives of business, government, international organizations and the expert community to discuss strategic directions for the environmental transformation of the region.

The dialogue was organized within the framework of the National Social Eco-Campaign TURAQTY JOL 6.0 of the Kazakhstan National Federation of UNESCO Clubs together with CAIER and the Central Asian Climate Fund with the support of the General Partner - Bank CenterCredit and the official partner - Chevron.

TURAQTY JOL: Six Years of Formation of Ecological Culture among Youth
Known for its cultural and educational initiatives, the TURAQTY JOL program has been developing an environmentally responsible worldview and civic participation skills among young people for the sixth year. The project has grown from local eco-actions to a national movement that has reached thousands of young people across the country.

In 2025, the campaign expanded its influence:
• covered 17 regions of Kazakhstan,
• More than 7,000 participants were involved,
• 9.8 tons of waste collected
• Over 400 trees have been planted.

The initiative is fully in line with our Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 17 – Partnership for Sustainable Development, because it is cooperation that delivers long-term impact. We thank UNESCO and all partners for their contribution to the development of sustainable initiatives in Kazakhstan.

One of the highlights was ECO FEST TURAQTY JOL 6.0, where 70 finalists took a series of master classes in ecology, ESG, media and public communications. The festival ended with a competition of projects, the winners of which received grants – the main prize in the nomination “Innovation” amounted to 10 million tenge.

Environmental Focus: ESG, Climate and Industrial Challenges
One of the key themes of the Dialogue was the role of the financial sector and regulatory mechanisms in achieving the climate goals of Central Asia.
.According to Asel Tasmagambetova, founder of CAIER, the trends of recent years show a qualitative shift: Five years ago, business had to explain what ESG is and why we need a sustainable development agenda. Today, we are at a completely different stage: we need to decide not whether a sustainable approach is needed, but how to implement it, how to cope with external challenges and what this means for companies. This shows that sustainability has become part of real business policy – and it will not disappear. This gives hope and confidence that the environmental agenda will finally become a real priority.”

The discussions emphasized the need for an accelerated transition to a green economy, the introduction of climate standards and the development of anti-crisis innovations. Particular attention was paid to transparency, combating greenwashing and building trust between business, society and the state.
