TURAQTY JOL 7.0 LAUNCHED IN ALMATY DURING EARTH HOUR THROUGH SYMPHONY OF EARTH CONCERT

On March 28, the Almaty Theatre hosted the launch of the National Social Eco-Campaign SUSTAINABLE PATH 7.0 (Turaqty Jol), timed to coincide with the international Earth Hour initiative. The key event of the evening was the acoustic concert “Symphony of Earth”, which combined academic music and an environmental agenda.

SUSTAINABLE PATH is an educational program aimed at fostering environmental stewardship among the younger generation by instilling cultural, moral, and ecological values. The event was organized by the Kazakhstan National Federation of Clubs for UNESCO with the support of the UNESCO Almaty Regional Office and the National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ICESCO. Bank CenterCredit serves as the General Partner of the eco-campaign, with Chevron as the Official Partner.

The concert was held in an "unplugged" format: in support of Earth Hour, the theater's lights were turned off, and the entire program was performed without the use of electricity. This format was designed to emphasize the concept of conscious resource consumption and individual responsibility for the environment.

“For Bank CenterCredit, participating in SUSTAINABLE PATH is not just about supporting an environmental initiative; it is an investment in the values we share: responsibility to society, care for the future and nurturing a conscious generation. Today, as part of Earth Hour, the Giovani Talenti orchestra delivered live acoustic music without electricity, reminding us that conscious choices start with small actions. We believe that such projects help cultivate a sustainable culture of respect for nature and resources among young people” - said Arnur Ibrayev Head of Sustainable Development Directorate (ESG), Bank CenterCredit.

The musical program was curated to reflect the evolution of musical language – from the Baroque era to modern academic music, including works by Kazakh composers. The concert featured compositions by J.S. Bach, A. Vivaldi, Arvo Pärt, A. Piazzolla, and Jules Massenet, alongside masterpieces of Kazakhstani authors.

According to Arshat Sharip, chief conductor and artistic director of the youth chamber Orchestra “Giovani Talenti” of the Akhmet Zhubanov Republican Kazakh Specialized Music Boarding School for Gifted Children, the synthesis of European and Kazakh musical traditions has become a special feature of the program. The young talents showed the synergy of art and sustainable development through promoting the environmental agenda and demonstrating to society the importance of caring for the earth. The soloists of the concert were renowned cultural figures: bayanist Galymzhan Narymbetov, violinist Dinara Bazarbayeva-Sakhaman, kobyz player Aigerim Karsakbayeva and vibraphonist Mukhammedbatyr Baltabayuli.

“Chevron has been cooperating with the Kazakhstan Federation of Clubs for UNESCO for over ten years, supporting initiatives in environmental education and sustainable development. We are convinced that discussing environmental responsibility is important from different perspectives – through education, culture, creativity and dialogue with youth. That is why we found the idea of launching the SUSTAINABLE PATH 7.0 eco-campaign through a musical event particularly interesting this year. This format allows a fresh look at the environmental agenda and inspires the younger generation to treat the Earth and its resources with care”, - noted Zhanar Koshanova, Public Relations Advisor at Chevron Eurasia.

As part of the launch of the eco-campaign, the start of accepting applications for the Youth Eco camp SUSTAINABLE PATH 7.0 was announced, an initiative aimed at developing an ecological culture among young people and supporting practice-oriented solutions in the field of sustainable development. Teenagers aged 14 and 18 are invited to participate. Applications are open from March 28 to May 28, 2026.
