Opening of the International Forum “Partnership for Peace and Art” in Karaganda
The International Forum “Partnership for Peace and Art” is being held from May 19 to 21 as part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of UNESCO and the 10th anniversary of the Regional Representation of the Kazakhstan National Federation of Clubs for UNESCO in the Karaganda region.
The forum brought together representatives from Azerbaijan, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, heads Clubs for UNESCO of Kazakhstan, representatives of international organizations, educational and cultural institutions, as well as artists and cultural figures.
The central event of the forum was the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Current Trends, Achievements and Innovations in the Activities of Clubs for UNESCO.” During plenary sessions and discussions, participants explored modern approaches to the development of non-formal education, international humanitarian cooperation, youth initiatives, cultural interaction, and the preservation of cultural heritage.
As noted by the World and Kazakhstan Federations of Clubs and Associations for UNESCO Mr. Bolat Akchulakov:
“Clubs for UNESCO today serve as an effective platform for international humanitarian cooperation and people’s diplomacy. We are sincerely pleased that the Karaganda region has become a venue for such professional and cultural dialogue.”
Welcoming remarks were also delivered by representatives of the Akimat of the Karaganda region, the UNESCO Regional Office in Almaty, as well as leaders of leading educational and cultural organizations of the country.
Special attention during the forum was given to the role of UNESCO Clubs as an international platform contributing to the strengthening of peace, the development of intercultural dialogue, and the support of youth initiatives.
According to the Head of the Education Department of the Karaganda region, D.Sh. Zhekebayev:
“Over the past 10 years, the Regional Representation of the Kazakhstan National Federation of Clubs for UNESCO in the Karaganda region has become an important platform for the development of international humanitarian cooperation, support for talented youth, and the promotion of UNESCO values. Today, the representation unites 29 Clubs for UNESCO Clubs operating on the basis of educational institutions in the region, creating a unified space for creativity, dialogue, and new opportunities for the younger generation. I am confident that the forum ‘Partnership for Peace and Art’ will become an important step in strengthening international cooperation and developing cultural and educational initiatives.”
The forum program also included:
• International exhibition of Club for UNESCO projects “Digital Generation: Ideas, Technologies, Innovations”;
• Art exhibition “Art as a Language of Peace”;
• Gala concert “Music of Friendship and Unity” featuring young musicians from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan;
• International Children’s Creativity Festival “We Are Together.”
At the conclusion of the forum, participants noted the high level of organization, the importance of international exchange of experience, and the need for further development of partnerships in education, culture, and the arts.
