Environmental Campaign SUSTAINABLE PATH united citizens of Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan hosted a Global Nationwide Clean-Up Day organized within the framework of the V anniversary cycle of the National Social Eco-campaign SUSTAINABLE PATH. The event was held simultaneously in 14 regions of the country and the cities of Astana, Almaty and Shymkent.

The main goal of the initiative, which brought together 2000 enthusiasts, was to improve the condition of the native land and the environment by raising the level of environmental culture among young people.

SUSTAINABLE PATH is an educational initiative aimed at fostering the younger generation's respect for their native land through the inculcation of cultural, moral and environmental values. This program is a continuation of four cycles of the project successfully implemented by the Kazakhstan National Federation of Clubs for UNESCO in collaboration with the general partner Bank CenterCredit and the official partner Chevron company, as well as the Shymbulak Mountain Resort.

According to Bolat Akchulakov, President of the Federation of Clubs for UNESCO: “SUSTAINABLE PATH is one of the organization's key projects in the field of sustainable development, which consists of several stages and brings together many partners and experts from different fields around youth development. Over the years, it has proven its worth and is expanding scale every time!”.

The Global Clean-up Day represents an important stage in the implementation of the eco campaign. For example, residents of the capital joined this noble initiative and collected 2.5 tons of waste on the territory near Taldykol lake.

In turn, an initiative group of residents of Almaty collected 1 ton of garbage at the Shymbulak Mountain resort, which is located in the Ile-Alatau National Park. Plastic bottles, paper, glass, household and other types of waste were carefully sorted and transferred to local companies for recycling.

During the event, the Kazakhstan Federation of Clubs for UNESCO and the Shymbulak Mountain Resort signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at building long-term cooperation in the field of sustainable tourism, environmental protection and preservation of natural resources.

The initiative is being implemented with the support of the National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ICESCO, the UNESCO Regional Office in Almaty and Akimats of Astana, Almaty, Shymkent and regions. We were also supported by the Galmart supermarket chain and Tulip Medicine clinics.

The information partners of the project are the media holdings “Alash Media Group" and "Nur Media".
