On December 11, 2024, in Almaty, the results of the 5th Anniversary cycle of the National Social Eco-campaign SUSTAINABLE PATH were presented.
The main goal of the event was to showcase the project's key achievements over the past year and discuss further prospects for the development of environmental education and sustainable initiatives in Kazakhstan.
Since the launch of the eco-campaign, it has reached over 20,000 people and engaged 3,500 direct participants. More than 400 applications were submitted for the creative art contest and the festival of innovative ideas, over 100 saplings were planted and 4 tons of waste were collected and sent for recycling.

The event brought together leading experts in ecology, sustainable development, media projects and international cooperation. Among the attendees were representatives of the financial sector, business, as well as winners of environmental competitions and creators of successful eco-startups. The speakers shared their experiences and discussed critical issues of sustainable development, environmental protection and integrating ecological values into public and educational practices.
Fatima Bakirova, a member of the “Carbonick” team, shared her thoughts: “Thanks to SUSTAINABLE PATH, we were able to initiate the development of our green hydrogen production project, which I had the privilege of presenting as part of the winning team at the 2024 Invention Convention China Festival”.
“We see immense value in how the eco-campaign has managed to unite people of different ages, professions, and cities. We are proud to have been part of this brilliant initiative, filled with eco-creative ideas born during the project, and we look forward to their continued development”, - highlighted the high level of execution of the SUSTAINABLE PATH project Zhanar Koshpanova, a representative of Chevron company.
According to the organizers, next year, the SUSTAINABLE PATH eco-campaign will introduce new initiatives, including the Republican festival of science and creativity synergy and the EcoMedia Camp, which aims to prepare a new generation in the media sphere, equipped to accurately and effectively cover environmental issues.
SUSTAINABLE PATH is a continuation of four cycles of the project successfully implemented by the Kazakhstan National Federation of Clubs for UNESCO in collaboration with the general partner Bank CenterCredit and the official partner company Chevron.
The initiative was implemented with the support of the National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ICESCO, the UNESCO Regional Office in Almaty and the Akimat of Almaty.
