
Kazakhstan National Federation of Clubs for UNESCO announces the opening of the application process for ECO FEST, held as part of the National Social Eco-Campaign TURAQTY JOL 6.0. The initiative invites young participants to engage in one of three thematic categories: Innovation, Art or Media. The festival aims to foster environmental awareness, creativity, and youth engagement in sustainable development across Kazakhstan. The call for applications is open from May 20 to June 30, 2025.
TURAQTY JOL is an educational programme aimed at fostering a sense of responsibility towards the native land in the younger generation by instilling cultural, moral and environmental values. It is a continuation of five successful cycles of the project, organized by the Kazakhstan National Federation of Clubs for UNESCO in collaboration with the general partner Bank CenterCredit and the official partner Chevron.
The initiative is implemented with the support of the National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ICESCO, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Akimat of Almaty city, the UNESCO Almaty Cluster Office, and the Republican Educational and Methodological Center for Supplementary Education under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The youth-focused ECO FEST TURAQTY JOL 6.0 is dedicated to fostering and enhancing the interest of children and young people in environmental culture and sustainable development. The initiative supports outstanding eco-projects and creative ideas, providing opportunities for their further funding and implementation across Kazakhstan. Participation in the project is free of charge.
Schoolchildren, students, and young people aged 12 to 25 are invited to participate by choosing one of the following three competition categories:
• INNOVATION (ages 16–25):
A competition for youth teams developing environmental start-ups and sustainability-focused projects. The winning teams will receive funding for the implementation of their ideas. The total prize fund is 10 million KZT.
• ART (ages 12–25):
Participants are invited to submit creative artworks on the theme “The Breath of the Earth”. Selected works will be featured in the final festival exhibition, and their authors will be awarded certificates and valuable prizes.
• MEDIA (ages 12–17):
An educational Media Camp designed for aspiring journalists, videographers, and content creators. Based on the competition results, 50 finalists will be selected to take part in the project’s final event in Almaty, where they will also receive certificates and commemorative prizes.

Finalists will take part in a rich cultural and educational program that includes expert project presentations, an exhibition of creative works, masterclasses led by industry professionals, and a festive award ceremony. The final events will be held from August 12 to 16, 2025, in Almaty.
