On October 26, 2024 an exhibition of works of the finalists and winners, along with the awarding ceremony of laureates of the International Youth Festival THE PLANET OF ART – 2024, organized by the Kazakhstan National Federation of Clubs for UNESCO was held in the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 2024, the art cycle of the International Youth Festival THE PLANET OF ART - 2024 is dedicated to the study and dissemination of knowledge about UNESCO World Heritage sites, and is held within the framework of the 15th anniversary of Kazakhstan National Federation of Clubs for UNESCO and Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs and Associations. Children and youth aged 3 to 18 years from all over the world were invited for participation by choosing one or several World Heritage sites for their creative artworks.
"THE PLANET OF ART is not just a project of the Federation, but a platform for dialogue and creativity, which opens up new horizons for participants and shapes the future of cultural exchange. We are proud that within 15 years, thanks to the support of our partners from ERG, CNPC, TCO and TotalEnergies, we have created a space where young people can express themselves and contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage", said Bolat Akchulakov, President of the World and Kazakhstan Federations of Clubs for UNESCO.
According to the results of the jury meeting, 82 winners from 34 countries of the world were determined, who, from October 24 to 26 enjoyed a captivating program of the final part of the Festival in the southern capital of Kazakhstan – Almaty. The children were given a unique chance to take master classes and trainings with leading teachers and artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
One of the event’s highlights was the release and presentation of a themed album on UNESCO World Heritage, featuring around 500 works by finalists and winners of THE PLANET OF ART – 2024 Festival.
Madi Ismailov, Director of the Corporate Foundation "ERG Komek” remarked: “This project aligns fully with Eurasian Resources Group’s mission, encouraging deep exploration of the essential topic of UNESCO World Heritage. Without awareness and study of our history, a worthy future cannot be built. We are impressed that thousands of children from 34 countries shared knowledge about World Heritage sites in their countries”.
The project is entirely social in nature, supporting gifted young artists in realizing their creative potential, thanks to the support of the project’s general partner, Eurasian Resources Group (ERG), co-partner CNPC and official partners Tengizchevroil and TotalEnergies E&P Kazakhstan. Due to the project’s scale and broad international reach, all children, regardless of social status, including those from remote areas, received equal opportunities to showcase their talents and work with leading artists in Kazakhstan, completely free of charge.
