In early May, a large-scale series of environmental campaigns took place across all regional centers and cities of republican significance in Kazakhstan, marking the official launch of the National Social Eco-Campaign "TURAQTY JOL 6.0". Implemented in all regions of the country in support of the "Taza Kazakhstan" initiative announced by the Head of State, the campaign featured mass tree planting and citywide clean-up events.
Nearly 4,000 engaged citizens not only contributed to urban greening efforts but also became part of a nationwide movement for a cleaner and healthier environment. The initiative aims to raise public environmental awareness and actively involve young people in sustainable development projects.
According to Arnur Ibraev, Director of Sustainable Development (ESG) at Bank CenterCredit: "TURAQTY JOL is not just an environmental campaign, but a movement that not only helps instill a deep sense of responsibility for the environment and natural resources in the participants themselves, but also promotes the widespread dissemination of sustainable development ideas and respectful attitudes toward nature in society. At Bank CenterCredit, we are proud to be part of this initiative and to see how participation from families and youth grows each year. It is inspiring to witness such public involvement, as the future of our cities and country depends on it”.
TURAQTY JOL is an educational programme aimed at fostering a sense of responsibility towards the native land in the younger generation by instilling cultural, moral and environmental values. It is a continuation of five successful cycles of the project, organized by the Kazakhstan National Federation of Clubs for UNESCO in collaboration with the general partner Bank CenterCredit, the official partner Chevron, and the partner HP Global Trading B.V.
The initiative is implemented with the support of: the Akimats of regions and cities of republican significance, the National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ICESCO, the UNESCO Regional Office in Almaty and the Republican Educational and Methodological Center for Additional Education.
The project's information partners - the “Almaty” TV channel and the “Amanat Media Group” holding.
"Chevron is proud to be part of the TURAQTY JOL 6.0 initiative, which embodies our commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development. By supporting this nationwide eco-campaign, we aim to inspire communities across Kazakhstan to take proactive steps in preserving our natural heritage. Together with our colleagues, partners and the youth of Kazakhstan, we are planting the seeds for a greener and healthier future. This initiative reflects our belief that collective efforts can lead to significant positive changes in our cities, country and society as a whole", - said Yerkin Zikibayev, the Corporate Affairs Manager of Chevron Eurasia.
As part of the event, 9.8 tons of waste were collected and 410 tree saplings were planted across the country. Plastic bottles, paper, glass, household waste and other types of garbage were carefully sorted and handed over to local companies for recycling.
"For our company, environmental responsibility is not just a value, but a part of our corporate culture. Participation in “TURAQTY JOL” is a continuation of our global journey toward sustainable development. Together, we are not only improving the environment, but also fostering a culture of care, collaboration and awareness", - emphasized Svetlana Vyrypaeva, General Director of HP Inc. Central Asia.
According to the Organizers, in 2025, TURAQTY JOL 6.0 will be implemented in an updated format, featuring new components such as the Republican Festival of Innovation and Creativity and the Environmental Media Camp. These events aim to enhance youth participation, foster creative and environmental thinking and develop skills in media communications and sustainable development.
