We invite you to participate in the #WeHope For Peace World Challenge

The Kazakhstan Federation of Clubs for UNESCO together with the UNESCO Cluster Office in Almaty with the support of the National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ISESCO, and the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centers and Associations (WFUCA) announce the start of the #WeHopeForPeace World Challenge dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, the International Day against Nuclear Tests, as well as the 30th anniversary of the closure of the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site.

Ahead of the annual celebration of the International Day against Nuclear Testing, UNESCO is asking students to take part in the new global campaign #WeHopeForPeace, which provides an opportunity to demonstrate children’s hopes for a peaceful future.

All children of the world from 6 to 16 years old can participate in the challenge by making origami with their own hands. Thus, all participants will be able to familiarize themselves with the heroic story of Sadako Sasaki, a girl who inspired millions of people to follow their desires and not lose hope.

Dates: from July 1 to August 25, 2021.

To become a member of the World Challenge you need to implement only 2 steps:

1) Make origami in the form of a crane – a symbol of the fight against nuclear tests;

2) Record a video message in your native language with our slogan “I am against war. I am for peaceful world” and wishes, post the video on Instagram, indicate the name, country, city and age and nominate your friends to the challenge, noting them and our @unescoclubskz page in the post description.

We will share all the posts on the www.unescoclubs.kz website, as well as on the Instagram @unescoclubskz social network.
