An exhibition dedicated to the celebration of the 1000th anniversary of Almaty was held at the UNESCO headquarters from 10 to 12 October 2016.
As part of a unique exhibition prepared by the Mayor’s Office of the city, the rarest exhibits of the history and culture of Almaty were collected. At the same time, a unique project supported by the city administration and the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Leader of the Nation – the International Festival under the auspices of UNESCO “CHILDREN DRAW THE WORLD. ASIA”was presented to a wide range of the international community.
According to the organizers of this Festival, the Kazakhstan National Federation of UNESCO Clubs, an unprecedented number of participants took part in this project. More than 7,000 young artists from 15 countries of the Asia-Pacific region expressed their vision of the cultural capital of our country in the paintings collected in the final commemorative album. Dedicated to the millennial Anniversary of Almaty, this exhibition is the logical conclusion of the two-year stage of work on the project.
In addition, the project of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Unknown Kazakhstan”was also presented to the guests and spectators. The photo exhibition consists of the rarest shots of wondrous beauty and reflects the spirit of the multi-faceted Kazakh cultural heritage. Introducing guests to the little-known corners of the vast country, the works demonstrate the majestic expanses and reveal their history.
It is worth noting that the involvement of creative youth in the promotion of the national brand of Kazakhstan in the international arena is always important and the organizers could not but support such a significant international event as the celebration of the UNESCO memorial date-the 1000th anniversary of the cultural capital of Kazakhstan – the city of Almaty.
