
The Kazakhstan Federation of Clubs for UNESCO together with the UNESCO Cluster Office in Almaty and the Kazakhstan Association of Regional Environmental Initiatives “ECOJER” announces the launch of the Republican Transformational Marathon “Sustainability begins with me”
The Education for Sustainable Development Marathon aims to develop a new perspective on the mental and physical health of participants, on healthy eating and behavior that can lead to sustainable lifestyle changes.
If you are from 12 to 45 years old – we invite you to participate!
For 30 days, the project participants will study the philosophy of a healthy lifestyle, the principles of proper nutrition, the importance of introducing physical activity, the need to maintain mental health, preserving a clean environment and the basis of conscious consumption, as well as apply the knowledge gained in everyday life, increasing their social and civic activity.
To educate the participants, 20 webinars, training lectures and master classes will be organized (5 – mental health, 5 – physical health, 5 – healthy eating, 5 – care for the environment and conscious consumption).
In total, the marathon participants will complete 20 interesting practical tasks from expert mentors to consolidate the knowledge gained and unleash their potential.
And the high motivation of the participants, their desire to change and thirst for victory will be retained by 20 ambassadors from among popular bloggers, public figures, and influencers.
The marathon starts on September 20, 2021 and will last 30 days.
30 most active, responsible and creative participants will be recognized as the winners, and will be awarded diplomas and valuable prizes.

The Kazakhstan National Federation of UNESCO Clubs has existed since 2009 and unites 162 UNESCO Clubs from 14 regions of Kazakhstan and cities of republican significance: Nur-Sultan, Almaty and Shymkent. More than 1000 different projects and major youth programs have been created jointly with UNESCO Clubs at the intersection of three main areas of UNESCO’s activities: creative education, cultural heritage and sustainable development. These projects annually cover about 20,000 participants from 35 countries and open access to the best practices in the field of UNESCO’s core competencies.
The Kazakhstan Association of Regional Environmental Initiatives “ECOJER” works to preserve the environment while ensuring technological progress. The tasks of the Association are to build a dialogue between the state and society, support and assist organizations in the field of ecology and environmental protection, develop and implement the best available technologies at enterprises, assist in the development, coordination and implementation of targeted programs and projects in the field of improving the quality of the environment, improving the ecological culture of society.
