On December 21, the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty awarded the winners of the creative competition “70 years for every child”, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the 70th anniversary of UNICEF.

The project, initiated by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Kazakhstan National Federation of UNESCO Clubs, was aimed at promoting the main ideals and principles of UNICEF in the field of children’s rights, as well as encouraging the development of children’s creativity through a variety of forms of artistic expression of young people.

Paying special attention to identifying and encouraging talented children, the project organizers set themselves the task of communicating to every young citizen of the country the importance of building a peaceful society based on the values of kindness and tolerance.

In total, more than 500 young artists and authors of video works took part in the competition, according to the results of the jury, the following winners were determined:

Nomination 1: “The rights of the child” – Zhapanov Aybolat, 13 years old, Atyrau;

Nomination 2: “Child-friendly Kazakhstan” – Esbolganova Karlygash, 15 years old, Taraz;

Nomination 3: “UNICEF for Peace for Children” – Valentina Manchenko, 16 years old, Aktobe;

Nomination 4: “Best video” – Diana Gabrilyan, 14 years old, Shymkent.

Representatives of state bodies, international organizations and the creative intelligentsia of Kazakhstan came to congratulate the children, presenting them with the winners ‘ diplomas and valuable gifts.

During the event, the exhibition was officially opened and the presentation of the album “Children of Kazakhstan – Children of the World” was held, which included the best works of the finalists of the project. By the way, it has become a good tradition for the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan to hold exhibitions of children’s creativity in the framework of cultural and educational activities, along with exhibitions of professional artists. The exhibition will run until December 27, 2016.
