On the International Children’s Day, Open Asia Online, together with the Kazakhstan Federation of UNESCO Clubs, presents the works of children who painted the world from 1999 to 2016.

Children’s drawings do not lie. In them, as in a mirror, the worldview of small artists is reflected. The era, the mood, and the family leave their marks. All this, held together on paper with paints and a brush, creates an image of modernity.

Over the 17 years of the project “Children Draw the World”, created on the initiative of UNESCO, many events have happened on the planet: cities, countries, and people have changed…

The project was launched in 1999 in Kazakhstan. In 2010, it was joined by children from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The number of participants reached 12 thousand. And this year, the festival has expanded its borders to the Asia-Pacific region.

Now the contest is called ” Children draw the world. Asia”. Some of the works that you will see here will only be presented to the jury in September. We invite you to go through the gallery of children’s drawings and understand: has the world become better over the past time? Have the colors become brighter?
